SKYPE is an exciting, free tool that will allow you to communicate with others via computer through a webcam, free of charge. The use of the webcam (built-in or external) gives the two people who are talking a visual image of each other, as well as, of course, the ability to hear each other. In addition, SKYPE has an instant messaging feature, as well as a document 'drop' feature that allows you to drag and drop documents into a box and send them to the person with whom you are communicating. That person will be able to immediately open and view the document or image as you are speaking.

Below you will find some guides (video, PDF, and online guides) to downloading, installing, and using SKYPE, as well as a list of ideas for incorporating SKYPE into your classroom.
